Customers : Sunderland Astronomical Society Luna Front Page

Sunderland Astronomical Society desperately needed a new look. Their current web master had inherited a design that was old and inflexible, one where the original designer didn't want anything to do with his work. SAS asked for our help and we were delighted to participate.

We removed the ugly, clashing colour scheme and added a simple, elegant layout minus the gimmicky FLASH images. We extended and simplified the navigation so there was no longer any need to go trawling through one page after another looking for whatever you wanted.

On the technical side, we re-organised the structure of the site so that any graphics images were stored in a folder labelled images rather than just scattered all over the top directory. We also added server side includes, PHP scripting and a working Contact page carrying up-to-date information.

To achieve the delivery deadlines and customer goals, we used an existing template, which meant that we didn't have to develop the site from scratch. As so many of our customers have discovered, the ugly truth about some web development companies is that they'll use a pre-built, ready-made template for your page and then charge you for developing the code from scratch. We don't think that's very fair. If we use a template then we'll tell you and charge you accordingly.
